Supporting the Nationwide Expansion of Michigan Companies

June 28, 2022

Southwest Michigan has been an integral part of Envirologic’s success throughout the 33 years we’ve been in business. It’s not just that our office is headquartered in the vibrant city of Kalamazoo — we are deeply rooted in these communities through our memberships with local organizations and sponsorships of public events and initiatives. Many of our team members also grew up in this area or received their college or university education here, including both of Envirologic’s co-owners.

Beyond southwest Michigan, Envirologic has developed significant experience and client relationships in all corners of the state, helping to shape the future of crucial properties from Michigan’s southern border to the northern shores of the Upper Peninsula. But our Certified Small Business has an even longer reach than you might think.

In the past two decades, Envirologic has completed projects in 18 different states. Our team of geoscientists, biologists, environmental engineers, and compliance personnel have the expertise necessary to support successful negotiations with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, whether the project site is in Michigan, Texas, New Jersey, or another location. We provide clients with boots on the ground and have extensive experience performing environmental assessments and site investigations throughout the United States.

There’s no better example of our nationwide capabilities than the various environmental support services we have provided for Alro Steel Corporation. Alro is a distributer of metals, industrial supplies, and plastics. Starting out of a small garage in Jackson, Michigan, Alro now has over 70 locations in 13 states across the country.

Envirologic has partnered with Alro over the past 30 years to conduct due diligence activities associated with the acquisition and divestment of almost all their properties. For each of these sites, Envirologic identified any potential environmental concerns and prepared a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment. Where the potential for contamination was identified, we performed additional investigation work and developed liability protection documentation when necessary. This relationship has led us to carry out cleanup activities, brownfield redevelopment, and liability protection negotiations in numerous states.

For our team, this experience provides perspective on various regulatory approaches and best practices that can be employed to solve complex environmental problems. We think it is unique for a relatively small company such as Envirologic to have this level of broad expertise and experience, so that no matter how and where your business grows — we’ve got you covered. Contact our team to learn how we can utilize our nationwide experience to help on your next project.
