Dave Stegink has been with Envirologic since 1991, joining the team only two years after it was first incorporated. Being with the company since almost the beginning, he is part of a group of dedicated employees responsible for shaping many of Envirologic’s standards.
In June of 2018, Envirologic announced Dave’s promotion to Vice President and Manager of Redevelopment Services. In this role, his main focus has been to enhance our client’s experiences through an expansion of our redevelopment services, additional employee training, and an emphasis on business development and marketing. It’s not unusual to see Dave working on a variety of tasks around the office. He does it all — from drafting reports and grant proposals, fielding client calls, and developing strategies for project implementation to tromping around in the field to inspect project sites.
Since 1996, Dave has been the instructor for the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) module of Western Michigan University’s renowned Hydrogeology Field Course. Being a part of the field course is particularly important to Envirologic, as it allows us to partner with a university in Kalamazoo (our own backyard). Beyond that, it’s a chance for Dave to interact with, and impart his more than 37 years of experience to, 20–30 students from across the country and international community who are eager to get into the business.
Dave met his wife of over 30 years, Julie, while working together in Muskegon. Dave and Julie have one son, Denver, and a basset hound named Forest. Outside of work, Dave has an intense passion for cooking and likes to experiment with a variety of cuisines and ingredients. His other hobbies reflect his love for the outdoors and include hiking, fishing, and photography. Dave is one of several University of Michigan football fans in the office (as well as a self-proclaimed college football fanatic) and strives to never miss a game.
